RENO, NEVADA — Sheralee Ann (Sabasteanski) Friedrich, 58, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at her home in Reno, Nev.

She was born in Portland, Sept. 29, 1955, the daughter of Peter Sabasteanski and Lillian Sabasteanski Lopes of Bridgton.

Sheri was a graduate of Lake Region High School, Class of 1973, and received her fine arts degree from Colby College in 1980. On Aug. 9, 1980, she married David Friedrich in North Conway, N.H. They were divorced 28 years later.

Throughout her life she enjoyed many indoor and outdoor activities. Sheri was on the Board of Selectmen in Raymond. She was a lover of golf and an avid skier. She enjoyed gardening, painting, interior decorating, as well as gourmet cooking. She could often be found reading her Kindle and enjoying the company of her two dogs, Zoe and Cloe. She and her husband built a Hampton Inn in Carson City, Nev., that is presently managed by her son.

Sheri was predeceased by her father, Peter Sabasteanski of Bridgton and stepbrother Arthur Lopes of Alburque, N.M.

She is survived by her son, Andrew David Friedrich of Philadelphia, Pa.; mother Lillian and stepfather George Lopes of Scarborough; brother, Peter Sabasteanski of San Bernadino, Calif.; brother, Stephen and sister-in-law Karen Sabasteanski of Windham; stepmother Anne Sabasteanski; and stepsisters Kathy Fulton of Naples, Fla., Nadine Marchand and partner Deborah Stahler of Mt. Vernon, Lora and Mark Nielsen of Corinth, Vt.; and stepbrother Larry Lopes of Saco; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will take place in Bridgton in the spring.
