Sharon D. Durfee

Sharon Day Durfee woke up in heaven on Saturday, April 19, 2014, after a courageous fight with cancer. She will always be our hero.

The daughter of Arnold and Ethel Day, Sharon is survived by her brother Leroy and Deborah Day; and sister Linda Fitch and Steve Brown.

She leaves her mark on this world through her children, Sherri and Donnie Davidson, Theresa and Wes Ridlon, Stacy and Gene Morrell, Spike and Buffy Ward, Paul and Dale Ward, Kelly Durfee, Angela and Mickey Mullaney; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She had great love for her dogs, Notagain and Foxy. We are still unsure of who rescued who.

After retiring from hairdressing Sharon volunteered at Community Concepts. She loved her Friday Night Bingo Girls, doing arts and crafts and dancing to her favorite songs, along with being with family and friends.

Please feel free to donate to The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing — a place where Mom felt blessed and inspired.

A casual Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 27, 2014, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 214 Main Street, Bridgton, Maine 04009. Much thanks to Pastor Cathy. (Bring a dish to share if you would like.)

Great thanks to Dr. Boedeker and the amazing staff at the Oncology Clinic in Bridgton. They not only cared for our mother, but our entire family, as well. Heartfelt thanks to the M1 staff at CMMC for their support.

We will miss you deeply, Daughter, Sister, Mommie, Mother, Mumf, Mom, Ma, Momma Mia, Mimi, Sharon and Friend.

Love — The Hardwood Gang.
