Robert Cote

BIDDEFORD — Robert A. Cote, 96, of Biddeford, died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at his home.

He was born on Nov. 16, 1920, in Biddeford, the son of Joseph and Alma (Bonneau) Cote, and was educated locally.

Robert worked as a farmer for many years and then as a mechanic for the Biddeford Public Works Department. He enjoyed working in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives Aline (Millette) Cote, the mother of his children, Florence (Brochu) Bernier Cote, and Carmen (Mand) Hanusek Cote; three children, his first-born twins, and Lucien “Baby Lou”; two grandchildren; and his 15 siblings.

Surviving are his children: Roger Cote of Biddeford, Richard Cote of Biddeford, Rachel Cote of North Port, Fla., Paul Cote of East Baldwin, Conrad Cote of Biddeford, Renald Cote of Biddeford, Donald Cote of Biddeford and Doris Baker of Biddeford; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford. A funeral service followed at 10 a.m. in the Hope Chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford. To share condolences online, please visit: www.HopeMemorial.com
