NORTH WATERFORD — Ricky Lee Howard, 50, of North Waterford, who had been missing since October 5, 2018, had his remains located on June 9, 2019, in Waterford.

He was born on, Dec. 19, 1968, in Chillicothe, Ohio, a son of Gary Howard and Betty (Six) Grover. He attended Waverly High and Piketon High. He also attended Ohio State University.

Ricky came back to Maine in 2016, where he reconnected with Coleen Pike, the love of his life and soulmate.

He married Coleen at the Waterford Fairgrounds, where they shared their first kiss many years ago, and they made their home in North Waterford.

He worked as a truck driver for Perry Transport. His life career was truck driving, including 18 years as an over-the-road driver.

Ricky enjoyed spending all his time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed cookouts, playing golf, relaxing at home and having fun. He was a lifetime Cincinnati Bengals fan —he and Coleen enjoyed watching the games and making bets as to who the Patriots would beat on any given week. He also loved playing with their dog Rua, as well as taking care of their chickens.

He was a member of Moose Lodge 1626, Chillicothe, Ohio.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Coleen of North Waterford, their dog Rua; his father, Gary Howard of Ohio; his mother, Betty Grover and her husband Merle of North Waterford; his children, Matt Howard, Tyler Howard, Mahaylie Gleason, of Chillicothe, Ohio; stepchildren, Bryan (Kel-sea) Toothaker, Kane Toothaker, and Emily Toothaker; his grandchildren Kyrin , Owen, Piper and Elias; his brother Robbie Howard (Jennifer); aunts, uncles, extended family and friends he considered family. He was predeceased by his grandparents Ova and Roxie Howard; brother Randy Howard; in-laws Randy Pike and Anita Bradley; and stepson Jared Toothaker.

A celebration of Ricky’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, at the North Waterford Congregational Church. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
