NAPLES — Peter M. Eley, Sr. passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 after a short stay at Central Maine Medical Center.

Peter was born on April 16, 1939 in Framingham Mass., and grew up in Maynard. He was a member of the U.S. Army from 1958-1961. Shortly after leaving the Army, he married Janet S. Maenpaa of Sudbury, Mass. on Dec. 10, 1961. Peter and his family moved to Naples in 1978. Peter enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading.

He was predeceased by his wife, Janet, who passed away on June 24, 2006.

He is survived by his sons Peter Eley Jr. of Naples and Michael Eley of Raymond.

He was laid to rest at Crooked River Cemetery on Jan. 28. Arrangements were by Hall Funeral Home, Casco.
