Pamela J. Dyer, 65

Pamela J. Dyer, 65, died at Bridgton Health Care Center Sunday after a long illness.

She was born at Webber Hospital in Biddeford on June 30, 1949, the daughter of Betty S. Dyer and the late Laurence H. Dyer of Naples.

Pamela was a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Southern Maine and a respected member of the Lewiston High School English department faculty for 17 years. She was also a former board member of the Lewiston YWCA.

Her interests included crafts, reading, crocheting and cooking. She and her former husband, Curtis Shaw, co-managed Little Lyford Pond Camps for a summer. She also enjoyed travel and visited Alaska several times with her former husband, Thomas Gagnon.

Pamela was predeceased by her father and an infant daughter.

She is survived by her mother; two daughters, Heather Sargent of Bridgton and Sally Shaw of Lewiston; two sisters, Gail Dyer of Gardiner and Susan Cole of North Bridgton; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Pamela’s life service will be held at the Bridgton Congregational Church on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m.
