Norma “Jean” Hunt, 84, passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly at Bridgton Hospital on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016.

Born Norma Jean Smith on Jan. 4, 1932, she is survived by her loving husband, Thomas W. Hunt; her four children, Kimberlee Beaulieu of Fort Myers, Fla., Kristan Regan of Watertown, Conn., Kevin Hornstra of Somerville, S.C. and Kellee Hornstra-Young of Westerville, Ohio; her stepchildren, Thomas Hunt of Narragansett, R.I., Andrew Hunt of Boston, Mass. and Jennifer Ann Hunt of Oakland, Calif.; her first husband, Allan Hornstra of South Weymouth, Mass.; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the love of her life.

She was predeceased by her second husband, Joseph MacDonald.

Jean loved to wear colorful clothing and bold jewelry, which embodied her life and how she shared it with everyone she knew.

She was the charter member of the Bridgton Arts & Crafts and served as president for 25 years, was an active board member of the Bridgton Chamber of Commerce, and volunteered at the Bridgton Hospital Guild, Thrift Shop and Coffee Shop, while also serving as the Grand Marshall in the Bridgton Fourth of July parade. She was also very active in Ranchero Village and Hospice in Largo, Fla. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Jean’s passion was sewing and crafts, which she displayed at multiple locations in the Lake Region area using the tagline “Made with Love by Jean.” She especially enjoyed using her talents to create loving gifts for her family.

She was memorialized on Sept. 2 by her loving family and friends at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bridgton under a beautiful summer sky.
