RAYMOND — Moyle W. Evans, 88, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 6,, 2014, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

He was born in Gorham, son of Harry B. and Margarite Evans. He attended Gorham schools.

Moyle spent four years in the Navy and fought in World War II. He then spent the next 35 years or so working for Otis Elevator as an electrician and building elevators. He also filled in for the town of Gorham as a snowplow driver.

He loved the Red Sox and all TV sports. Most of all, he liked being up at camp in Eustis, hunting, fishing and beating everyone at cribbage. He was quite the cook, as well. He was a longtime member of the National Campers and Hikers Association, and also enjoyed volunteering at Special Olympics. He also was a longtime member of the Windham Gorham Rod and Gun Club.

He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly J. Robillard Evans, in 1992.

Surviving are his daughter Kathi J Adams of Casco; a son Kevin M. Evans of Rochester, N.H.; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Ingalls of Cape Elizabeth and Helen Kuzoian of Mass.

Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014, at Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham. A private burial for family will be at Hillside Cemetery in Gorham at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.
