Michael W. Chick

HIRAM — Michael William Chick, 26, passed away on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 as the result of an automobile accident. 
He was born on Dec. 13, 1984 at the U.S. Army Hospital, Wurzburg, Germany and grew up in Fryeburg. Mike, as he preferred to be called, graduated from Fryeburg Academy in 2003 and worked in construction for several years. He was currently employed in the logging trade in Bridgton. He was very outgoing and friendly, able to make friends easily and once made, he was fiercely loyal to his friends. He was an avid fan of action movies, and music of all types from country to rap. He was devoted to his rottweiler, “Tyra.”
He leaves behind his fiancée and love of his life for the past nine years Jamie Jefferds. He was looking forward with great excitement to becoming a father as he was expecting their first child in July.
In addition to Jamie, he leaves behind his mother, Suzanne Gillette of Fryeburg and her partner Jack Whigham; his father Michael L. Chick of Melbourne, Fla. and formerly of Conway, N.H.; his stepfather Brian Gillette of Fryeburg; his sister, Mandey Chick of Melbourne, Fla.; his brother, Willard Gillette of Conway, N.H.; his sister Emily Gillette and a brother Jonathan Gillette, both of Fryeburg; his maternal grandparents, Tom and Louise Kingsbury of Fryeburg, paternal grandmother Patricia Chick of Rockledge, Fla.; and maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Eulalie Kingsbury of Harrison; his aunts and uncles; and several cousins. He will be forever missed and he is so very loved.
There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 23 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Fryeburg.
