Maureen Foster

Maureen G. Foster, 65, of Bridgton, died early Thursday evening, Dec. 18, 2014, at the Bridgton Hospital with her loving family at her side.
She was born on Oct. 4, 1949, in Portland, a daughter of Peter J. and Patricia (Kane) Griffin. She attended Saint Dominic Elementary School and Cathedral High School, both in Portland, graduating in 1967.
On Nov. 14, 1970, she married, Robert Foster at the St. Dominic Church in Portland. They moved to Bridgton in 1977, where they raised their family and she worked at the local Renys for 20 years as a supervisor, retiring in 2011.
Maureen was the ever-loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed many things including crafts, knitting, quilting and her recent involvement in a Bible study group, but nothing could trump the enjoyment of the time she was able to spend with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
She was loved by her husband of 44 years, Robert Foster of Bridgton; her children, Christopher Foster and his wife, Caitlin of Brownfield, Sarah Dodge of Bridgton, and Meagan Foster of Bridgton; her grandchildren, Ayden Paul, Ainsley Catherine, and Mackenzie Maureen; siblings, Patricia Cogswell and her husband, Edward of Gorham, Jane Dooley of Medford, Mass., Peter J. Griffin and his wife, Rita of Scarborough, and Cindy Jones and her husband, Steven of Lynchburg, Va.; several nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, John P. Foster and his partner, Ray Rhule of Biddeford. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Brian Griffin.
Family and friends were invited to call at the Chandler Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Bridgton, from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at the funeral home.
