Marjorie Cowles Sullivan, 93

CAPE ELIZABETH — Marjorie Cowles Sullivan, 93, of Cape Elizabeth and Raymond, died peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2015.

She was born and educated in Wethersfield, Conn. Her parents were Edward Cowles and Agnes Sall Cowles. She was the stepdaughter of Major Winfield Strout.

She was married to Edward Sullivan for 69 years until his death on June 7, 2009. They worked together with the help of their children to build a summer resort in Raymond called Silver Sands, which is still in operation today.

She leaves behind seven children, Kate VanCampen, Nancy Costa, Brian Sullivan, Sharon Sullivan, Kevin Sullivan, Sean Sullivan and Mark Sullivan; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She leaves one sister, Jean Brostek of Silver Springs, Fla.
