Marianna Kernander, 61

NAPLES — Marianna “Marianne” Kernander, 61, formerly of Boxford, Mass., passed away at a local nursing home under the care of loving friend Philip J. Gibbs who was by her side.

She was born in Salem, Mass., daughter of Warren N. and Ann (Evans) Kernander. She graduated from Masconomet Regional High School in 1974, received a BS degree in Pharmacy from URI in 1978, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Psychology in 1996.

As a youth, she was active in Brownies and 4-H. She loved skiing, tennis, golf and water sports.

Marianne’s career started in pharmaceutical sales, including an overseas assignment in Paris and Rome. Later, she was a licensed pharmacist for several years on Long Island, New York.

Her skills in the medical field were of great significance as she relocated to Maine to care for her brother George and her mother.

She was predeceased by her father, Warren N.; her mother; Ann E. Kernander; and an older brother, George E. Kernander.

She is survived by her brother, Warren N. Kernander Jr. of South Lyon, Mich.; a niece and nephew, Caitlin and Cullen of Mich.; two cousins, Joyce and Carl Kernander; and a beloved aunt, Mary “Heather” Evans Fitzgerald of Alexandria, Va.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Graveside Service, which will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, in Topsfield, on Saturday, Sept. 1st, at 12 noon.
