Lyndon G. “Beau” McMackin

BRUNSWICK — Lyndon G. “Beau” McMackin, 86, died Friday, April 20, 2018, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice in Scarborough.

He was born July 19, 1931, in Brunswick, the son of Lyndon A. and Lenora (Black) McMackin.

Lyndon attended Fryeburg Academy, Lee Academy, Jonesport High School and graduated from Farmington High School.

He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees during the Korean conflict. Mr. McMackin was employed by Portland Gas Light Co., Grollier Enterprises and later, in sales and management for home improvement for 30 years as the owner of the Exterior Craftsman business. He was a semi-professional singer and mandolin player, and enjoyed playing piano, violin and other musical instruments.

On Sept. 30, 1995, he married Clarisse P. (Gauthier) Will in Portland.

Beau was predeceased by his second wife, Louise Johnston; and a stepdaughter, Debra Will.

He is survived by his wife, Clarisse, of Brunswick; a son, David McMackin of Topsham; daughters, Debra Hart of Manchester, N.H. and Brenda McMackin of Raymond; stepsons, Richard Will of Ellsworth and Timothy Will of Topsham; sisters, Sue Marr of Otisfield and Lynda McDonald of Windham; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street in Brunswick. A celebration of life will follow at 3 p.m. Those who wish, may leave a note of condolence at www.brackettfuneralhome.com
