Lewis Delano

EAST HARTFORD, CONN. — Lewis E. Delano Jr., 86, of East Hartford, Conn. passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 11, 2017.

He was born in Madison on Jan. 13, 1931 to the late Effie Meservey and Lewis Delano Sr. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Geithner); sisters, Alice Friess, Roberta Milliken and Madeline Martikainen.

He is survived by his children, Judy Turcotte of Maine, Elaine McDougal of East Hartford, Conn., Daniel Delano of Virginia, David Delano and Laurene Delano of South Carolina; stepchildren Beverly O’Brien of Newington, Susan Dawe of Florida, Lori Ayotte of Maine, and Julie Demers of Coventry; a sister, Dora Kennedy of East Hartford, Conn.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating Lewis’ life was held at Desopo Funeral Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford, Conn. on Sunday, June 18, 2017. Lewis was buried alongside his parents at Forest Hills Cemetery, Kansas Road, Bridgton.
