OCALA, FLA. — James Bradley Maxfield, 81, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, after a brief illness.

He was born on April 6, 1934, to Albert and Annie Maxfield in Westbrook. A graduate of Scarborough High School, he served eight years in the U.S. Navy and in 1988 retired from the U.S. Postal Service. After his retirement, he worked three years at the Route 1 Mobile station in Scarborough, until he moved with his wife to Ocala, Fla.

Brad, as he was known, enjoyed spending time with his family in both Florida and Maine. He enjoyed sports, playing cards and traveling with his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Gloria Coulombe Thibodeau Maxfield; children Vicki Maxfield of Ocala, Fla., Kimmerly Maxfield-Fearon of Gorham, Donna Thibodeau Haslop of Ada, Ohio, Robert Thibodeau of Casco, Holly Brown of Ocala, Fla. and Kellie Thibodeau Senghas of Acton, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Edith Wadsworth Maxfield; brother, Howard Maxfield; and sisters, Eldora Deering and Beverly Wood.
