Dorothy Ridlon

Dorothy E. (Wyman) Ridlon, 93, lifelong resident of Bridgton, went home to be with her Lord on Jan. 12, 2021 at Bella Point Assisted Living.

She was born Aug. 11, 1927 in Bridgton, the second of seven children born to Linwood and Lydia (Libby) Wyman and attended Bridgton Schools.

In 1944, she married Clifford L. Ridlon Jr. and they began their own
family of six children. She spent her early years as a wife, mother
and homemaker. In later years, she enjoyed working for her son John at
Main Street Variety in Bridgton making pizzas, sandwiches and friends in the community.

She was a longtime member of the Bridgton Alliance Church where she sang in the choir and served the Lord as a deaconess. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, macramé and most recently enjoyed her time with her daughters and great-granddaughter making new memories and transferring old memories into scrapbooks.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford L. Ridlon Jr; her son, Samuel Ridlon; grandson, Samuel Ridlon Jr.; sister, Gertrude (Wyman) Knight; brother, Donald Wyman; and two sons-in-law, Raymond Cross and Ronald McIver.

Surviving are her two sons, Clifford Ridlon III (Kippy) and his wife Lynda of Bridgton and John Ridlon of Bridgton; three daughters, Laurel Cross of Bridgton; Cynthia McIver of Stafford, Va., Linda Staples and husband Vaughn of Bridgton; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She also leaves four siblings: brother William Wyman and wife Brenda of North Berwick; Kenneth Wyman of Wells; Carol (Wyman) Kezar and husband Charles of North Berwick and Sherry (Wyman) Johnson of North Berwick and an extensive family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
