RAYMOND — Arlene S. Hodgdon, 87, of Raymond and formerly of Westbrook, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born in Portland, the daughter of John and Grace (Knight) McNeil. She was raised and educated in Portland, then moved to Westbrook, where she lived for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard W. Hodgdon in 1975.

After her husband passed away, Arlene worked at the Maine Medical Center for 15 years before retiring. She enjoyed crocheting, walking, and watching TV.

Arlene is survived by her son, Richard John of Hiram; a daughter, Carolyn May of Raymond; a sister, Carol Ann George of Florida; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Tuesday at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Portland. Arrangements are by Blais & Hay Funeral Home, Westbrook.
