Anthony G. Mattia

Anthony G. Mattia, 27, of Bridgton died on Friday, Oct. 8, 2013.

He was born in National City, Calif. on Feb. 20, 1986, the son of Gary M. and Brenda Stowell Mattia. He faithfully served in the U. S. Army in Iraq. He received the Purple Heart. Currently, he was a student at University of Maine at Augusta.  He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding ATVs. He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his parents of Bridgton; a brother, William Mattia; two sisters, Amanda Goodell and Cassandra Mattia; four nephews; a niece; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 8 Elm Street, Bridgton. Family and friends may attend a time of visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors or other VA programs.
