AUBURN — Anona L. “Nonie” Spaulding, 65, of South Casco, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 at the Androscoggin Hospice House.

She was born in Portland on Sept. 14, 1948, the daughter of Fred Jr., and Jacqueline Lorraine (McLeod) Fillinger. She was educated in Portland schools and was employed as a hairdresser at Headlines until her retirement in 2010.

Nonie enjoyed scrapbooking, dancing, riding and watching her husband race motorcycles. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her infectious smile and her outgoing and flirtatious personality.

She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Spaulding, whom she married on Sept. 21, 2002, of South Casco; a brother, Fred Fillinger III of Windham; three sisters, Lorraine Gadway of Sabattus, Laura Fillinger of Portland and Jackie Fillinger of Bridgton; an aunt, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Graveside services honoring Nonie’s life were held on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at North Auburn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anona’s memory to the Casco Bay Dialysis Facility, 2 Chabot St., Westbrook, ME 04092.
