Allen Lorrain, 78

Allen Lorrain

CASCO — Allen Lorrain, 78, of Casco passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017.

He was born April 15, 1939 in Naples, the son of Dorothy and Robert Lorrain and was a longtime resident of the area.

Allen was active in the Odd Fellows of Auburn, proudly achieving “Deputy Grand Master” status. He previously worked at Wilner’s Wood Products and volunteered 20 years driving for R.T.P.

His laugh was infectious and he had an uncanny ability to strike up a conversation with anyone he came in contact with. Allen lived life through simple pleasures: fishing at secret spots, hunting with his family, golfing or spending time with loved ones. He could always be found at local stores buying “scratch” tickets, chatting with the locals and always offering a helping hand.

Allen is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruby Morey-Lorrain of Casco; daughters Theresa Howell of Naples and Tammy Googins of North Carolina; sons Buzzy Lorrain of Casco, Cameron Lorrain of Hollis, Weldon Lorrain of Casco, Matthew Lorrain of Fort Kent, Tony Lorrain of Harrison, Timothy Lorrain of Waterford and William Lorrain of Oxford; sisters Sherrell Kane of Casco, Bonnie Bean of Casco and Lucerne of Bridgton; brother Richard of California; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin; and brothers Dennis, Wayne and Meredith.

Allen will be greatly missed by many, but will always be in the hearts of those that loved him.

The family will greet friends at a celebration of life that will be held at the Casco Community Center on Thursday, Aug. 13 from 2 to 5 p.m. This will be potluck, rain or shine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contact with Theresa Howell at 831-4039.
