Adam F. Towne

PORTLAND — Adam F. Towne, 50, of Portland, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at the Barron Center.

He was born in Lewiston on May 23, 1961, the son of Bradford and Patricia Morrill Towne.

He attended Oxford Hills High School until his sophomore year when he moved to Fryeburg Academy, and graduated in the Class of 1979. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1980 to 1984 as a meteorologist. He worked for various local companies including A. C. Lawrence, Co. and Oxford Marking Products.

He moved to Portland in 1991 and attended the University of South Maine graduating with a degree in History and Political Science in 1995.

He worked for various companies in Portland. From 2003 to 2010, he traveled to 35 countries and took thousands of photographs; he had a huge interest in photography.

He is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Michelle Lebietz of Portland; his brother, Nathan of Norway; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his parents.
