Siebert receives Spirit of Community Award

Amy Siebert of Naples received the NFI North Spirit of the Community Award

NFI North, Inc. recently presented Amy Siebert of Naples with the Individual Spirit of the Community Award, which is presented to someone who serves as an example of superior performance in their agency. Recipients of the award are exemplary leaders, have made exceptional accomplishments during their tenure, provide a high level of creativity and innovation in all they do, and possess a notable amount initiative by extending their work and support to others. Nominations are made through the Agency’s Administrative Team and selected based on the nominee meeting the requirements.

While working her way from a Direct Care Counselor to Program Director, Amy earned her college degree while raising her own three amazing children. As the Program Director, you will often find small children taking a nap in her office because they find it to be a safe and quiet space. Amy has the unique ability to make every child feel like they are one of her own, caring for them like family while maintaining and role modeling strong boundaries. She is a passionate advocate for families for each of the children in her care with no biological families to live with. Amy fights for these small people who, in her mind, belong at home with a family who can give them the love they deserve.

“When considering people for the 2019 Individual Spirit of the Community award, Amy stands out for many reasons. First and foremost is her genuine love for those she serves daily and those she leads. She goes the extra distance to make sure people feel valued and heard. She seeks input and gives feedback, two of the core values of our NFI mission,” according to Jill Allen, Maine Regional Director at NFI North.

Amy often gives up her evenings and weekends to help coach soccer teams or attend games and is always the child’s loudest and most positive cheerleader. She is a large part of the reason why the same children perform each year in the NAFI talent show and this year will be here again to perform a special song. Amy works tirelessly to value staff, often buying them small gifts or coffee. She has multiple staff who have worked at the program for 20-plus years, which speaks volumes to her leadership.

“We are so very proud of this person for her growth, commitment, and integrity as a leader in our agency,” said Karen Cusano, assistant executive director at NFI North.
