What do you consider as traits that make someone a good citizen? The ability to be a leader, but also know how to be inclusive. It should never be about being in charge; it should be about making sure that everyone is helping and has the opportunity to help.

Who has inspired you to be a good citizen and why? Every adult I have met throughout my life has made me a good citizen because I’ve seen the right and the wrong to do in life and that has helped to shape the person I am today.

What have you done to make the school community a better place? I have been a part of ASTRA Club for a little over two years and this years’ focus is to make a Food Pantry for the students in our school. It has been a difficult task to tackle, but we are getting to close to being able to have a Food Pantry.

Why is volunteerism important? Volunteerism is important to me because there is always someone less fortunate that needs your help. You can always do something to make someone’s life a little better that day, or put all the siding on a house that doesn’t have anyone in it yet but will soon provide a roof over a family’s head. There will always be someone you can help. I want to help as many people as I can.

In the future, what do you see yourself doing to make the world a better place? My future plans are to become an elementary school teacher. I want to help shape the young minds of future generations to believe they can do anything. To believe that they do have the opportunity to change the world one step at a time and I believe that will be one of my steps. I also plan to continue volunteering as much as I can throughout my life.
