Recount declares Sebago winner
SEBAGO — Scott Douglas is in, Philip Lowe is out.
A recount Friday determined that Douglas was one vote better, 87–86 — than Lowe for the second of two seats on the Sebago Board of Selectmen.
Last Tuesday, Christopher Parker won one three-year term by collecting 97 votes. The results were machine tabulated, which resulted in a tie between Douglas and Lowe, Town Clerk Maureen Scanlon reported. The results were then hand-counted, which resulted in a one vote difference between the two candidates.
On Friday, a recount was held at the town office. Again, votes were hand-counted. Again, it was a one-vote difference between Douglas and Lowe. And again, Douglas prevailed.
In other results:
• James Jansz (138 votes) and Timothy Economides were elected to three-year terms on the Budget Committee.
• Barry Jordan was elected to a two-year term on the Budget Committee.
