Player of the Week: Chelcie Murch

By Wayne E. Rivet

Staff Writer

Chelcie Murch is one of the sparkplugs that gets the Lake Region field hockey team moving.

“Chelcie has grown into an outstanding field hockey player and works very hard to improve everyday,” Lake Region varsity field hockey coach Dagny Leland said. “Chelcie is aggressive to the ball and looks to find ways to get the ball into the net. I love her enthusiasm for the game and her willingness to be that leader on the field.”

Chelcie is one of the Lakers’ tri-captains.

“It shows how much her teammates look up to her. She has been one of the top scorers and has had many assists to help her team,” Coach Leland added.

In recognition of her strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Chelcie is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.” Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.
