Injury sidelines Hall from attending N.E. finals

If indoor track & field fans were unable to find Kate Hall’s name among the results of the New England Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass. this past Saturday, it was not a misprint.

The Lake Region junior and three-time defending state champion had to withdraw due to injury.

Kate has been battling a hip flexor injury, which resurfaced last week while she was taking part in a WGME-13 interview.

“Kate had warmed up, got positioned in the blocks and after a start, she said she was all done. The hip flexor was bothering her, leaving her with a limp,” said her dad, Eric Hall.

Unable to compete at the New Englands was “disappointing” for Kate, especially considering that the winning long jump mark was 17-feet 8-inches, which was off the average mark Kate had posted during the winter season at 18-feet 5 ½-inches.

Kate is hopeful that she will be ready to compete at the Nationals to be held in two weeks in New York.
