Two people were killed in a single-vehicle rollover Sunday, Oct. 19 on Route 302 near the Burnham Road intersection. The Bridgton police Department responded to the crash at 5:50 p.m. and upon arrival, officers located a 1994 Honda Accord that was operated by Candice L. Tucker, 34, of Gorham.
The Honda was traveling south on Route 302 and overtaking other vehicles when it lost control, went off of the left side of the road and struck several trees. Tucker had received minor injuries as the result of the crash and was transported to Bridgton Hospital.
The two passengers of the vehicle, Tucker’s boyfriend, Eric S. Morey, 35, of Gorham and Tucker’s son, 16-year-old Branden Denis of Gorham, were dead at the scene. The crash is being reconstructed by a crash reconstruction specialist from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department. The crash remains under investigation by the Bridgton Police Department.
Preliminary investigation indicates that excessive speed is a contributing factor to this crash.
