Hard work and a positive mindset have made freshman Charlie Herrick a frontline goalie for the Ice Cats varsity ice hockey team.

“Charlie is a great teammate, hardworking and has improved a lot early on in the season. Charlie has helped us to stay in games and gave us chances to win games this season,” Ice Cats Head Coach Wayne Neiman said. “Charlie puts in a lot of work at each practice and continues to push himself to be better each game. He has a good positive mindset and continues to work each game and night. It shows with each game the improvement he has been making.”

In recognition of his strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Charlie is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.” Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.
