Ninth District Court – August 27 through September 2, 2010

The following matters were taken up in Ninth District Court in Bridgton from August 27 through September 2, 2010:

Aaron Wallace Ashton, 29, of Bridgton, was found guilty of failing to comply with the Maine Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act on Aug. 17, 2009 in Bridgton and was sentenced to serve seven days in the Cumberland County Jail.

Zouhair A. Bouzrara, 49, of Portland, had a charge of harassment by telephone on June 20, 2010 in Lovell transferred to the Oxford County Superior Court in Paris to be scheduled for a trial by jury.

Christopher J. Burk, 39, of Denmark, was found guilty of failure to display a lake and river protection sticker on July 15, 2010 in Denmark and was fined $100.

Jerry Burnell, 21, of Fryeburg, was found guilty of fraudulently obtaining a driver’s license or permit on Aug. 3, 2010 in Fryeburg and was fined $100.

Joseph M. Cappucci, 48, of West Townsend, Mass., was found guilty of operating a watercraft without safety equipment on July 3, 2010 in Lovell and was fined $175.

Brian R. DiNapoli, 26, of Everett, Mass., was found guilty of possession of marijuana on June 25, 2010 in Fryeburg and was fined $350.

Benjamin Grant Farwell, 26, of Standish, had the following charges on June 5, 2010 in Standish transferred to the Cumberland County Unified Criminal Docket in Portland to be scheduled for a trial by jury: violating a condition of release, unlawful possession of a Scheduled drug and operating a motor vehicle while his driver’s license was suspended or revoked.

Nathan A. Gustafson, 29, of Boston, Mass., was found guilty of transporting malt liquor or wine on July 24, 2010 in Fryeburg and was fined $200.

John E. Hall, 46, of Sherborn, Mass., was found guilty of operating a watercraft without safety equipment on July 17, 2010 in Naples and was fined $114.

Price Hutchins, 58, of Bridgton, was found guilty of operating or permitting the operation of an unregistered motorboat on July 4, 2010 in Bridgton and was fined $200.

Cody T. Jones, 21, of Everett, Mass., paid a $350 fine by waiver for possession of marijuana on June 26, 2010 in Fryeburg.

Kurt Karpowich, 21, of Fryeburg, was found guilty of allowing a minor to possess or consume liquor and furnishing liquor to a minor on Aug. 25, 2010 in Fryeburg and was fined $1,000 on each, with all but $250 suspended on each. As the result of a plea agreement, Karpowich had a charge of violating a condition of release on the same date in Fryeburg dismissed, in exchange for his guilty pleas to the charges listed above.

Jarrod Milton, 29, of Raymond, had a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant on July 8, 2010 in Casco transferred to the Cumberland County Unified Criminal Docket in Portland to be scheduled for a trial by jury.

Daniel R. Roy, 53, of Fryeburg, had charges of disorderly conduct by using offensive words and gestures and refusing to submit to arrest or detention by use of physical force on May 27, 2010 in Fryeburg transferred to the Oxford County Superior Court in Paris to be scheduled for a trial by jury.

Michael S. Stearns, 29, of Lowell, Mass., was found guilty of possession of fireworks on July 2, 2010 in Lovell and was fined $50.

Craig A. Whitney, 41, of Lovell, had charges of violating a condition of release and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant on May 17, 2010 in Lovell transferred to the Oxford County Superior Court in Paris to be scheduled for a trial by jury.
