Since November 2004, I represent the 101st House District in the Maine State Legislature. On Nov. 4, 2008, I was re-elected to my third term with a 58-42% majority. I serve on the Joint Standing Committee on Transportation.  I also serve on the Motor Vehicle Advisory Board and the Maine Turnpike Budget Sub-committee. I was appointed to the Transportation Committee of the National Conference of State Legislators.

I have been active in referendum campaigns such as opposing the Bear Hunting Ban Referendum in 2004; organizing and supporting the TABOR effort in 2006; I spoke at the TABOR Tea Party in 2006; I actively supported the citizens repeal of the Beer Wine and Soda tax in 2008; I worked hard supporting the Repeal of LD 1495 (the 102 new sales taxes) in 2010; I was a member of the 2008 Maine Republican Platform Committee and am currently serving on the Maine Republican State Committee; and was elected in 2008 as the Cumberland County Republican Committee Chairman.

I was the keynote speaker at the TOGUS National Day of Prayer 2009. I was an invited speaker at the 2008 GOPAC State and Local Summit in Washington D.C. speaking on Public Private Partnerships in Transportation; the speech was carried on C-SPAN. I spoke at the Family Research Council February 2009 rally in Augusta. I spoke at The Portland Tea Party in 2009, and was part of the Stop Obamacare Healthcare Reform Rally in Portland in 2010. In the last six years, I have written over 60 columns in local newspapers on current topics and issues.

I am happily married for over 19 years to my wife Philippa; we have two great kids, Ian (age 18) and Rachel (14). Philippa and I are the owners of Steamboat Landing Mini Golf in Naples. Prior to owning Steamboat Landing, I was the operations manager for an ESOP computer networking company. Prior to that, I was a self-employed project manager and systems technician in the professional video and trade show field.

I am a member of the Greater Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce, a Charter Member of the Naples Lions Club. I am an associate director of Maine Taxpayers United. I served on the Naples Budget Committee for five years until June 2007 (two years as vice chairman). I was the vice chairman of the Naples Comprehensive Plan Update Committee. I am a member of Naples Main Street, member of the Naples Causeway Bridge Restoration Committee, active in the Naples Republican Committee as well as a founder of the Lakes Region Republican Club, a member of the Sebago Lake Angler Association and the Western Maine Fish and Game Club, a member of Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine, a Life Member of National Rifle Association, a member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and a twice Past Master and 32nd degree Mason.

As a family we support independent local Christian outreach ministries in our communities as well as National and International Christian missions.

In my spare time I enjoy shooting, hunting, fishing, camping, biking, gardening, watching the New England Patriots with my family and spending as much time with my wife and kids as possible.
