Q. What do you believe are three keys to being a good student? What I believe to be the three keys to being a good student is balancing an academic and social life, developing an effective studying habit that is unique to you, and staying curious. It is important to invest time in academics without forgetting about yourself, without balance you risk damaging yourself or burnout. Everybody is different, and finding what studying habits work best for you is crucial for success. Curiosity is the fuel for learning, leading everybody in search of something they enjoy and generally want to know more about.
Q. What is your favorite class and why? My favorite class would have to be Woods. I took the class during my sophomore year and used the time and tools available to construct a coffee table. While being generally enjoyable, the class also helped enhance my time management skills.
Q. Who is your favorite teacher and why? I would have to say that my favorite teacher is Mr. Coady. He has been one of my Math teachers since middle school up to pre-calculus and has an effective way of clearing any confusion with the material. No matter the content, Mr. Coady always explains it in a way that is easy to understand and grasp. He was always there to push me to be the best student I could be and show me the more fascinating side to Math.
Q. If you could change one thing about your educational experience, what would it be and why? The one thing I would change about my educational experience would be to take advantage of more opportunities available. There were a lot of classes and activities that I missed out on for lackluster reasons. It would have been nice to make the most of the opportunities accessible.
Q. What accomplishment are you most proud of, and why? I would have to say that I am most proud of my academic portfolio in terms of my grades, GPA (grade point average), and placement throughout high school. A lot of time and effort has gone into getting where I am, and I feel a sense of pride in my work. There is still so much more to accomplish however, and thinking about how much further I can go fills me with excitement.
