Harrison Food Bank making progress

HARRISON — Harrison’s new Food Bank is making progress.

The Harrison Food Bank opened up with the help of the Harrison VFW (Waterford Road, Route 35) and the Harrison Lions Club, along with Cliff Roderick of Roderick Log Home Builders of North Bridgton, who stepped in and built shelves for the Food Bank, reported Kevin Varney.

The Food Bank also landed two new freezers and refrigerators from Lowe’s in Windham, courtesy of an anonymous donor, who simply said “happy to help you out.”

The Harrison Food Bank will be open every other week on Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

For emergency situations, please contact Kevin at 415-5811. Food Bank recipients will need to bring proof of income and proof of address (driver’s license or state ID). At this time, the Food Bank is unable to secure food from the Good Shepherd Food Bank because it is not a member (still working on receiving nonprofit status).
