Innovative Revolutionary War Exhibition at Bridgton Historical Society’s new gallery and exhibit space on the first floor of the 1869 Methodist Church on Main Street in Bridgton. The exhibit opens on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Other times: Sunday, April 13, hours will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Starting April 14 through April 23, the exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The exhibit will not be open on Easter Sunday, April 20. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Wednesday & Thursday, April 16-17

National Poetry Month and the Spaulding Memorial Library in Sebago is excited to host Julia Bouwsma, Maine’s sixth Poet Laureate at 6:30 p.m. Julia will read from her book Midden and offer a presentation based on the research that went into writing of this poignant collection.

Spring/Easter Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to. Noon at the Lovell United Church of Christ, 1174 Main Street, Lovell, assortment of baked goods, both regular and gluten free.

Easter Pie Sale at the Denmark Congregational Church in the driveway starting at 9 a.m. There will be a variety of pies to choose from. All pies are 10-inch and homemade and in a nice window box for holiday traveling. Cost for a pie is $20.  

Easter Egg Hunt. The Town of Naples will offer its Easter egg hunt in a tucked-away area at Songo Locks Elementary School property. The entire event goes from 10 a.m. to noon. Children of all ages up to fifth grade are invited to join the hunt. Other activities include: a cake sale; photos with the Easter bunny; story time and Easter crafts from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.; and Easter-themed bingo from 11 a.m. to noon.

Texas Hold’em at the Harrison Lions Club Den, located in the back of the Block Building on Main Street in Harrison. Doors open at noon with a start time of 1 p.m. Great food and refreshments will be available.

Ticket Auction to benefit Responsible Pet Care at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Bidding from 5 to 6:30 p.m., winners drawn at 6:30 p.m. Tickets $5, $10, $20, also bonus tickets. Over 250 great items. Food and refreshments available.

Wooden boat builder, outdoorsman, author and Big Tree Program measurer Kevin Martin will discuss his recent book, Big Trees of Northern New England: Short Hikes to the Biggest Trees in Northern Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine at 6:30 p.m. at Harrison Village Library. Public Supper. The Casco Village Church, United Church of Christ, is hosting a “Traditional” Saturday Supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Menu: Casseroles, hotdogs, baked beans, salads, and homemade desserts! Third Annual Earth Day Celebration & Children’s Art Show presented by the Waterford Earth Day Committee from 2 to 4 p.m. at 19 Plummer Hill Road, Wilkins Community House. There will be hands-on activities around repurposing, reusing and recycling everyday items that they can take home with them. Educational displays, local musicians, children’s artwork, vendors, and storytelling will engage participants in an appreciation of the environment.

Vernal Pool Explorations, 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Smith Bridge Preserve, 577 Allen Hill Road, Oxford.  Learn to identify vernal pool species: wood frogs, spotted salamanders, and the elusive fairy shrimp. Clash of Cultures. A performance by the Penobscot Singers, a men’s drum group from the Penobscot Nation on Indian Island near Old Town, on Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Fryeburg Academy Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center, hosted by the Fryeburg Historical Society, followed by guest speakers are Dr. Steven C. Eames, Professor of History (ret.) and Ken Hamilton, an expert on Algonquian-speaking cultures of the northeast. The Fryeburg Historical Society will have artifacts on display in the lobby and members of the MicMac community will be selling their crafts. This is a free event open to the public. Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Fryeburg Historical Society will host a living history education opportunity at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds. Harmon’s Snowshoe Men will replicate an 18th century colonist’s campsite and demonstrate their musket skills at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
