SEBAGO – Yvonne A. Nason, 70, of Sebago, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on Friday, May 22, 2015.

Born in Colchester Essex England, Yvonne was the first of five children of Guy and Muriel Tenney. Yvonne arrived in America at the age of one via the M.S. John Ericsson Military Ship.

She attended the Casco School System, where she was very involved in many school clubs and sports. After graduating with high honors, she attended and graduated from Northeastern Business College. She served as interim Deputy Town Clerk for Casco.

In 1963, she married William Nason. Shortly after, they moved to Sebago, where they both became involved in many ventures.

Yvonne was a President of the Sebago Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a dispatcher for the Sebago Fire and Rescue.

Along with her husband, Bill, and others she founded Sebago Days. She was owner and operator of an in-home day care center, Nason’s Beach & Campground, Nason’s Variety, and W.H. Nason Builders. In addition to this, she found time to coach softball and be a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader.

As President of the Tenney Hill Cemetery Association, she dedicated her time and own funds into expanding the number of burial lots.

Throughout her entire life, she was a dedicated supporter and participant in the community and the well-being of others. She donated to several causes in Sebago and her home town of Casco.

Through her strong will, and care and compassion for others, Yvonne was able to positively influence and impact people’s lives.

She will be remembered lovingly by her husband, Bill, of 51 years; her five children, Richard Nason and wife Joyce, Rosalie Carruthers and husband Leonard, Edward Nason, Angela Dionne and Thomas Nason and wife Ana; her brother Guy Tenney Jr. and wife Judy; her three sisters, Elaine Grover and husband John, Jeanette Frank and husband Leon, and Yvette Edwards and husband Keith. She was adored by her 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 7th from 2 to 4 p.m. at Camp Mataponi, 838 Sebago Road, Naples.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, 15 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston, ME 04240.
