OXFORD – Winfield M. Robinson, 73, of Oxford, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 at the Hospice House in Auburn.

Winfield was born in Bridgton on Aug. 2, 1942, a son of Daniel S. and Charlotte E. (Graffam) Robinson. He attended Oxford schools and graduated from Oxford High School in 1961.
 Following high school, “Win” worked at Paris Manufacturing for a time and then went to work at the Home Gas Company in Oxford. For most of his life, he worked at Robinson Manufacturing in Oxford and retired from there in 2000 after 25 years and was a supervisor.

He was an assistant coach for the Oxford Little League and was an avid NASCAR fan. His favorite drivers were Bill Elliott and Kasey Kahne. Winfield and his sons enjoyed going to races together and had traveled to Dover, Martinsville and New Hampshire International Speedway. He also loved hunting, fishing, camping, doing puzzles and yard work. He will also be remembered as a devoted friend to anyone in need.

Win had lived in Oxford all of his life and married Pauline A. Henderson on Jan. 11, 1964.

Surviving are his wife of Oxford; his two sons, Kirk Robinson of South Paris and Cameron Robinson of Oxford; his brother, Daniel “Buzzy” of Norway; his sister, Dixie Macdonald of Oxford; his foster son, Rick Haas of New Gloucester, and his three children, Chris, Kyle and Nathaniel; five grandchildren including Jessie Taylor of Harrison and Josh Lavoie of Harrison; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Winfield’s life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Stone-Smart American Legion Post, Main Street, Norway.
