William R. Packard

 

SOUTH PARIS — William “Bill” Robert Packard, 67, formerly of Harrison, died on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris.

He was born Harrison on Jan. 11, 1945, the son of Albert and Verna (Merrill) Packard.

Bill loved boating, fishing, spending time at his cottage on Little Bear Pond in Hartford and especially loved his dogs. He had an excellent voice and was a guitar player, his favorite music being country western.

He is survived by his daughters, Billie Jo Myer of Harrison and Darcy Winslow of Harrison; son, Ronald Packard of Otisfield; sisters, Peggy Poskus of Hartford and Alberta Estes of Harrison; brother, Arnold Packard of Harrison; an aunt and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and grandparents, George and Margaret (Wood) Packard and Lewis and Winnifred (Maxim) Merrill.

Visiting hours were held on Saturday, Sept. 1 at Oxford Hills and Weston Funeral Services, 1037 Main Street, Route. 26, Oxford. Graveside services were held on Sunday, Sept. 2, at the Maple Ridge Cemetery in Harrison.
