William G. Fitzcharles, III, 59

ROCKLAND — William Grant Fitzcharles III, 59, better known as Fitzy, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 26, 2015.

He was the eldest son of William and Carolyn Fitzcharles, and grew up in Pennington, New Jersey. In 1971 he moved to Bridgton with his family. He attended Lake Region High School and graduated in 1974. He went on to attend the University of Maine and Bangor Community College, as well as SMVTI.

He later found his niche working in the ski industry. He was maintenance manager of Pleasant Mountain at Shawnee Peak for many years and later at Red Lodge in Montana. He returned to Maine to head the Camden Parks and Recreation department. He was also terrain and lift manager at Camden Snowbowl.

Fitzy enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved fly-fishing with his friends. He loved his pets Arey, Ozzie, and Maggie May. He was a devoted and helpful friend. He was respected and well-liked by all those who knew him.

He was predeceased by his parents. He will be sadly missed by his many friends. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins; his brother, Robert and wife Kate of Bridgton along with nephews Robby, Grant, and Ian Fitzcharles, and their families.
