William F. MacDonald

PARSONSFIELD — William “Billy” F. MacDonald, 61, of Reed Lane, died on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at his home.
He was born in Portland, the son of Robert C. and Phyllis L. Allen MacDonald. Billy attended Windham schools and was a 1968 graduate of Windham High School.

For several years, he worked for Seavey’s in the automotive department. Then over the next few years, Billy worked for the former Hedges & Matthews Company of Portland and Shell Oil Company where he was a welder working on Gulf Coast oil rigs.

Billy enjoyed farming and most of all the animals, NASCAR racing, antique tractors, hunting, fishing, and his dog companion, General.

Surviving are his son, William MacDonald, of Ronan, Mont.; two daughters, Shellie L. Symonds and Erica D. LePage, of Casco; stepdaughters, Crystal, Jewel and Trisha; three brothers, James A. MacDonald, Lewis S. MacDonald, and Lawrence R. MacDonald, all of Windham, two sisters, Judy Burrows and Flora Woodside, all of Windham; 18 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at Smith Cemetery, Route 202, Windham, followed by a celebration of Billy’s life at the family farm, 143 Falmouth Rd., Windham.
