Wayne Kenerson

Wayne F. “Wayne from Maine” Kenerson, passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 at his home in Arundel.

He was born in Fryeburg on May 31, 1942, to Lawrence and Marie Kenerson. 

As a Fryeburg Academy graduate, Wayne went on to barber school and joined his dad at the Kenerson Barber Shop in Fryeburg. He later changed his career path, and devoted several years to working in the sales industry until his retirement in 2006.

A member of Lake Kezar Country Club, Wayne could be found every summer weekend at the course, sharing his passion for golf with his close buddies. Wayne could also be found out in the woods, where he loved to hunt and be surrounded by nature and wildlife. Fryeburg Fair week, was his favorite time of year, and could always be spotted in his favorite box seat in the grandstands playing the ponies with his dad and friends.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cindy Kenerson; his children, Roxanne Rowe of Scarborough, Lisa Kenerson of Westbrook and Greg Kenerson of Brownfield; seven grandchildren, as well loving family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Lorraine Genovese.

Wayne will be remembered for his kind spirit, strength and compassion, quick wit and famous one-liners and sayings.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in the spring in Fryeburg.
