Wayne Lorrain

POLAND — Wayne Edgar Lorrain, 71, of Poland, died of a brief illness Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston surrounded by his family.

He was born in Naples on May 2, 1943 to Dorothy and Robert Lorrain. He grew up in Casco and proudly served in the Army from 1964-1972. He married Kathy Dee Lorrain (Sanborn) on March 23, 1974, and was married for 41 years.

He worked for the Casco-Naples Transfer Station for 12 years, where he made many people smile and made many lasting impressions. He also worked as a driver for RTP and took pride in his ability to help others by giving them a reliable method of transportation to and from important appointments. He was a longtime member of the Maine Grange and most recently with the Danville Junction Grange in Auburn, which he enjoyed greatly. Wayne had a love for dancing, fishing, camping, spending time with his family, and pretty much anything outdoors. He also loved collecting stuff just to be able to give it to someone. His famous words were always, “You never know if someone is going to need it.” He had a big heart and got a lot of enjoyment in helping others.

He is survived by his wife Kathy; a son, Troy; daughters, Tracy Blevens, Laurie Hobbs, Cathy (a.k.a. Suzie) Mulkern, Lisa Lorrain and Tori Lorrain; eight grandchildren and a great-grandson; his siblings Richard Lorrain, Lucerne Lewis, Allen Lorrain, Sherrell Kane and Bonnie Bean; and many, many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews that all loved and thought very highly of him.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents; and his brothers, Dennis Lorrain and Meredith Lorrain.
