Walter L. Burnham, 70

NAPLES — Walter L. Burnham, 70, of Naples, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at his home in Naples.

He was born on Dec. 11, 1946, in Casco, a son of Leland S. Burnham and Arlene F. (Hall) Burnham. Walter attended local schools and graduated from Bridgton High School in 1964. He attended one year at Wentworth Institute in Boston, Mass., before joining the family business, Burnham Bros., Inc., in Naples in 1965. He retired in 2012 after 14 years with Searles Excavation in Harrison. He served the Town of Naples as a Selectman for nine years in the 1980s.

Walter enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching the Boston Red Sox.

Walter was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Donna (Burnham) Linnell. He is survived by his son, Chad L. Burnham of Naples; three nieces, Kimberly Linnell of Chatham, N.H.; Julie Pickus of Cape Elizabeth; and Tammy Shiffle of Portland; and former wife Sally Deangelo of Naples.

Visiting hours will be held at Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Rd., Casco on Thursday, Aug. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. A private graveside ceremony will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be left for the family at hallfuneralhome.net
