Wallis F. Hazleton

SEBAGO — Wallis Frederic Hazleton, 71, of Sebago, passed away on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born on April 15, 1939 in Hartford, Conn., the son of Walter and Marie Graff Hazleton. He graduated from Potter Academy and completed his bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Southern Maine.

Mr. Hazleton was a math teacher at Middletown High School in Middletown, Conn. for over 30 years and retired in 1994.

Earlier, Wallis enjoyed canoeing, diving, waterskiing and taught swimming. He always loved spending time with his family and traveling, and living in Sebago Lake.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mento Stamatia Hazleton of Sebago; one daughter, Eryni Papadopoulos of Belmont, Mass.; one sister, Jean Coolbroth of Alfred; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday at Cote Funeral Home, corner of Beach and James Streets, Saco. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at Cote Funeral Home.
