Viriginia R. Beane, 86

CASCO — Virginia "Ginny" (Richards) Beane, 86, died peacefully at her home on Aug. 10, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born Feb. 1, 1929, in Vienna to Ivie (Taylor) and John Richards. Ginny was the first-born of seven children. Growing up on the Richards farm enabled Ginny to be well adept at tending livestock, driving cattle and horses, haying and plowing fields, as well as tending the gardens. She attended local schools in Vienna, graduating from Livermore High School.

She met Robert “Bob” Beane through a friend and they began attending dances together. In June of 1948 they were married and they had three children. Ginny and Bob continued their love of dancing with the Triple Town Swingers until the early 1980s. She enjoyed baking, cooking, canning jams, jellies and vegetables from her garden, daily walks and long drives in her "chariot" with the top down. Ginny was employed for several years at G.H. Bass in Wilton, and after her retirement she worked part-time at Walmart in Farmington during the winter months.

In retirement, she enjoyed traveling around the world with her good friend Beverly. Together they frequently visited Florida to see family and most recently went on a family trip to Prince Edward Island. In her later years, Ginny thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings, barbecues, sharing stories about her great-grandchildren and going on outings with fellow residents at Country Village Assisted Living.

Ginny was predeceased by her son, Robert O. Beane; her husband Robert W. Beane; and sisters Geneva Lovell and Jackie Bean. Surviving are her daughter Cynthia and Joseph Yeni of Palm City, Fla.; her son Eric and Millie Beane of Bridgton; grandchildren, Robert O. Beane Jr., Erica Therrian, Aaron Howard, Caleb Howard, Joshua Robert Beane and Nichole Johnson; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 14, at Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Rd. Casco, ME 04015. Interment and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left for the family at hallfuneralhomeinc.com
