Virginia Miller, 87

Virginia Miller

HIRAM — Virginia “Virg” Miller, 87, quietly departed this life on Saturday, March 18, 2017, in Bridgton.

She was born in Portland, the daughter of the late Margaret Burns Clayton. She was a graduate of Portland High School.

She was united in holy matrimony to her hero, and the love of her life, LeRoy “Lee” Miller, in August 1951, who preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1984.

Together, they raised nine “little Indians,” as Virg was fond of saying, with all but one surviving her. Her eldest daughter Linda Louise McKinney, and her first-born granddaughter, also preceded her in passing.

Virg was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and past member of the Loyal Order of the Rebekahs. As a result of her generous spirit and giving heart she was loved by many. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her, and especially by those lucky enough to receive one of the many four-leaf clovers she was gifted to find.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children and their families, who now mostly reside in other states but who were all born as native Mainiacs and remain so in their hearts: LeRoy Miller, Roy Miller, Lorie White, Maxine Wilson, Delores Flowers, Tanya Miller and Leon Miller. She was most happy caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

At her request, there are no funeral services. She will be quietly laid to rest beside her hero at Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland. Arrangements are in the care of Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham.
