BERWICK — Viola Irene Guay, 81, of Berwick, formerly of Poland, died early Friday morning, June 7, 2013, at her residence.

She was born in Springvale on July 2, 1931, the daughter of Romeo and Alice Page, and graduated from St. Ignatius High School.

Her family then moved to Poland, where they lived for almost 30 years.

She was the widow of Victor A. Guay.

Viola was a homemaker for most of her life. She did work for a time in shoe production shops in Sanford, and was the custodian of Poland Elementary School in later years.

She enjoyed spending time outside, gardening and traveling.

Viola is survived by two sons, Douglas Guay of Berwick and Victor Guay of York; two daughters, Deborah Smith of Oxford and Andrea Smith of Raymond; a brother, Rene Page of New Hampshire; two sisters, Pauline Ayotte of Oxford and Claire Bernier of Kennebunk; and two grandchildren.w

Visiting hours were held on Monday, June 10, 2013, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, Wells. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial Chapel, Wells.
