BROWNFIELD — Trudy G. Merrill, 63, of Misty Lane, Brownfield, died Saturday, Oct., 26, 2013, at her residence.

She was born in Willimantic, Conn., daughter of John Herbold and Katherine Reese. She and her sister were raised by their grandparents, Hugh and Ethel Berzety, She was educated in Conn. schools and graduated from Kingwood High School in Wolfeboro, N.H.

Trudy had previously worked at the Yield House and as a massage therapist for Dr. Kidheart. She donated her time to the Brownfield Food Pantry and she planned many benefit suppers for local people. She sold crafts at the Fryeburg Academy Craft Fair and belonged to the Brownfield Fire Dept. Auxiliary. She also gathered food for the Brownfield Turkey Raffle.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Richard Merrill of Brownfield; one son, Richard Merrill II and his partner Kimberly Jacques of Brownfield; one sister, Sharron Feeley and her husband Kevin of East Wakefield, N.H.; three granddaughters, Briena McDonald of Meredith, N.H., Natalie Merrill and Makhli Merrill, both of Conway, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Burntmeadow Brook Cemetery in Brownfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brownfield Fire Dept., Brownfield, ME 04010, or to the Fryeburg Rescue, P.O. Box 177, Fryeburg, ME 04037.
