Timothy M. Smith

STOW — Timothy Michael Smith, 52, of Stow, died peacefully with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Brookline, Mass., a son of Francis and Carolyn Hayes Smith. He was educated in Medway schools. He had been employed by New Suncook School in Lovell for many years. His last job was for working for Dearborn Corporation in Fryeburg.

Tim will be remembered by many for his hobbies and his smarts. Tim was a lifelong learner and was always excited to share what he had learned with his kids and his wife. He enjoyed working in his garden, photography, sports, camping, hiking, writing and he loved fixing anything that was broken. Tim had a gift of being able to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He had a very witty sense of humor that was contagious.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Smith of Stow; three sons, Kenneth Smith of Stow, Martin Smith of Fryeburg and Frederick Smith of Stow; a daughter, Christine Smith of Conway, N.H.; three brothers, Frank Smith of Medway, Mass., Bruce Smith of Millville, Mass. and Christopher Smith of Oppenheirn, N.Y.; three sisters, Linda Leonte of Medford, Mass., Deborah Smith of Dracut, Mass. and Sandra Simmons of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 26 at the Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren Street, Fryeburg.
