CASCO — Sylvia A. Berry Swanson, 76, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Casco on Feb. 18, 1939, a daughter of the late Albion and Grace Malier. She worked at the knitting mill, Pleasant Mountain Moccasin, and most recently the Casco Inn as a CRMA, and a cook. She especially loved babysitting her grandchildren and the neighborhood kids. She was one of the founding members of the Casco Sunshine Club and a lifetime member of the Naples American Legion Post #155. She loved playing any game, camping, gardening, and her yearly trips to Pennsylvania. Sylvia especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son Richard and his wife Jolene; daughters Teresa and her friend Andy, Leslie and husband, John, and Hope and husband Tod; her sisters, Dot Rolfe, Josephine Malier, and Pam Komulainen; her brothers, Pat and Teddy Malier; her stepdaughters, Wendy, Lynn, Heidi and Karen; 11 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her first husband P. Wayne Berry; her second husband Charles Swanson; her brother John Malier; sisters, Olive Tripp and Barbara Gurney; stepdaughter Robin Swanson; stepson Scott Swanson, great-grandson Gavin Barker; and step-great-grandson, Jeffrey Swanson.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Naples American Legion, Saturday, March 14, 2015, from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Naples Ladies Auxiliary Post #155. Online condolences may be left for the family at hallfuneralhomeinc.com
