Suspects in Lake Region area burlgaries arrested

Maine State Police and the York County Sheriff’s Office have arrested three York County residents on numerous burglary and theft charges that took place in York, Cumberland and Oxford counties in the past two months.
Arrested were Christopher Michaud, 23, of Limerick; Cole Meserve, 20, of Standish; and Amber Meserve, 21, of Limerick. The two Merserves are brother and sister.
The trio is being held at the York County Jail on $10,000 bail each, and were expected for arraignment Monday in Springvale District Court.
State Troopers, deputies and local police departments have been investigating daytime residential burglaries in Sebago, Brownfield, Denmark, Gorham, Limington, Limerick, Dayton and Lyman since October. Entry into houses was made by kicking in doors. Stolen were over 20 guns, electronics, jewelry, cash, racing dirt bikes and marijuana.
Trooper Jeremy Forbes, who is the troop investigator at the State Police barracks in Alfred, said the trio is allegedly responsible for over 20 burglaries and were using the money generated by the stolen items to buy drugs.
Search warrants were issued last week, and two houses in Limerick and Buxton were searched Friday and early Saturday morning. Also searched was a self-storage locker facility in Limerick. Investigators recovered several guns, three dirt bikes, televisions, computers, and other electronic devices. Also seized was a large amount of marijuana.
It is believed that Amber Meserve had her two small children in her vehicle during some of the burglaries, police say. A second woman is likely to be charged later after investigators located a large amount of heroin during one of the searches.
Several of the stolen firearms have yet to be located and State Police are requesting anybody with information to call the State Police in Gray at 657-3030 and ask for Trooper Jeremy Forbes.
