Susan L. Managan, 63

Susan Lee Managan, 63, of Bridgton lost her courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.

She was born in Lewiston on March 1, 1953, the daughter of Harry and Doris Stevens.

Susan was a graduate of Oxford Hills High School and furthered her education attending Springfield College in Manchester, N.H. receiving her master’s degree in Substance Abuse Counseling. She worked for many years counseling those in need at Tri-County Mental Health before opening her own practice, Free Spirited Counseling Services, in Norway and Bridgton.

Susan enjoyed spending time with her family and had a very special love for her grandchildren. She had a soft spot in her heart for anyone in need, often putting others ahead of herself. Susan will be missed by her loving family and her large circle of friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Dan Managan; two sons, Richard Thompson of Naples and David Neal Jr. of Bridgton; her daughter, Kathaleen Ferland of Melvin Village, N.H.; stepchildren Shane Tripp of Sebago and Becky Tripp of Naples; three brothers, Harry “Butch” Stevens of West Paris, Bradley Stevens of Oxford and Dana Stevens of Oxford; her sister, Betsy Stevens of Oxford; 14 grandchildren; and an aunt.

She is predeceased by her sister, Carol.

Visiting hours were held Monday, May 11 at Hall Funeral Home, 165 Quaker Ridge Road, Casco with a funeral being held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12 at Bridgton Methodist Church on Main Street, Bridgton. Burial immediately followed on the Kansas Road in Bridgton.
